Namdaemun Market is the largest outdoor market in all of South Korea. Spread over several streets in central Seoul, you can buy just about anything you can imagine.

Namdaemun Market is mainly frequented by locals, as most stalls offer daily necessities. However, by the early evening the regular businesses close and the streets fill with stalls selling clothes, souvenirs and street food.

Most shops are open between 9am and 9pm, while street stalls usually close around midnight. On Fridays and Saturdays, Namdaemun is lively until the early hours of the morning.

The market is located in a small area northeast of the main station towards the centre and is easily accessible by public transport.
